Map Progress and Life Progress

The past month I've been working hard on the Professor Grizwald 3 adventure map. I've gotten a lot done and tested various sections, however I am nowhere close to my initial target of a release at the end of May. While the core components of the adventure are in place, all of the additional features I have planned are either half finished or not started. In addition, the announcement of villagers being able to trade makes me want to add even more. I feel like the additional features and the extras I will be adding will make the end of the Grizwald trilogy truly great, and therefore it is worth postponing the release.

In addition, I've landed a excellent summer internship. The job is full time, however, which mean it will slow production of the map as well. Realistically, I'm guessing I won't be able to get it done until later in the year. Sorry to all of my fans out there for making you wait, but the final map in the Grizwald trilogy will be well worth the wait ;). I promise.

I will be on a live stream tonight (7pm PST) with a few buddies, so check it out if you are free: http://www.twitch.tv/jigarbov

Status Update - 2nd main dungeon complete! 3rd half done.

The bulk of the work on the 2nd main dungeon has been finished, and now I'm about halfway through building the 3rd main dungeon.

Progress is going along nicely. :) The majority of feedback I've gotten from my adventure maps said that the exploration and puzzles were most enjoyable, so I'm trying to focus on those elements. I want to create a landscape populated with mini-dungeons that are not critical to the story, but offer some type of small reward (think Skyrim). Because of this it's hard to gauge how much more work I have to do. I still need to complete the 3rd and 4th main dungeons, 4 "mid" dungeons, and I would also like to dot the landscape with around 10 "mini" dungeons. The mini dungeons will be pretty basic, so they should take much less time.

We'll see how it goes. I'll continue focusing on finishing the main quest line for now. Here's a screen of the frosty mountains and the entrance to the orc gold mine!

Grizwald 3 Update - Moving along nicely :D

Since I began working on Grizwald 3 I've pretty much halted production of anymore youtube videos. Sorry for that. But the good news is that the next Professor Grizwald map is well underway! The basic map structure and layout has been completed. The first main dungeon has been completed, and the 2nd main dungeon is almost done as well.

I do have some pretty big plans for this map, so no ETA on a release yet, but I do plan on getting it completed by the end of May, so let's hope that's realistic.

Here's a screen of the first dungeon as well, "New Elfton":

Grizwald 3 Map - Now under construction!

Well it's been some time since I've worked on an adventure map, and I kinda left everyone hanging at the end of the last one...

So, it's time to get to work! Construction of my next adventure map begins today! I've got the story-line finished, and just did a few rough sketches of the over-world. Today I will start working on the map itself.

Hopefully this one won't take me as long to complete as the redstone keys, but it is a bit more complicated, more locations, and I'm still somewhat unfamiliar with pistons. We shall see.

Stay tuned to this blog & my channel, I'll be posting periodic status updates/screen-shots/video previews whenever I feel it's appropriate.

:D
